  1. Ok guys I'm still having internet problems and am at my grandparents house. (can't get on this site at the library either argh) but anyways check the 1st page and I'll update whose flies I've gotten. (mostly everybody, will send out pms as necessary. if yall want to ask more questions, you can email me at [email protected] That's the best way to get in touch with me right now.
  2. An update: recieved aaplants flies yesterday. Certainly fish getters! I have sent several pm's out and am anxiously waiting for the arrivals. I myself have finished my flies. I decided to go with a size 10 rubber legged stonefly. It produced 4 hookups of fish over 20 inches between me and a buddy on a trophy stream that was stained due to some recent rain . Perfect weather/conditons for Dredging!
  3. If I just have to catch a fish: chartreuse/white clouser. Gartside gurgler or a miss prissy popper for topwater.
  4. Sorry for not checking in a while. Have been busy. Got the bloodworms: great flies and they look very fishy. also got a set of flies from robdog but there was a bit of a mixup but should be handled shortly If you asked for the swap adress or having other pressing matters, please check your pm's bowlover
  5. Got my flies a couple of days ago. Arkansas Mike did a great job on these flies. I can see me using them come spring time for the sulphur hatch on the toccoa tailwater here in GA. (no pmd's down our way but to me: all yellow mayflies are the same).
  6. "Get ready...... Ah! Ok now get the hat off. You can use it as a face mask to protect yourself from the stench!" :hyst: Love some of the ones on here already!
  7. atroutbum2, got them today! very nice ties. I tie something very similar but use Ice dub for the abdomen and the spikey guard furs like you did.
  8. I'll play! how about a yellow elk hair caddis. I'm just curious what everybody's definition of a small stream is. I have fished some that are less than the width of your normal drainage ditch.
  9. My heart lies in fly fishing for trout but every now and then I throw some streamers and topwater bugs for bass!
  10. All yours! welcome to the swap! atroutbum2- adress sent
  11. Anyone want the last spot?... You have till tuesday to get it.
  12. ok just added her to the list. So that leaves us with 1 spot left! :headbang:
  13. Welcome to the swap: aaplant, fly tryer and Rfinn Looking forward to what yall will tie up. :headbang: That Leaves us with 2 spots left!
  14. welcome BigDaddyHub and robdog :headbang: still room for a few more!
  15. anybody else? would love to have some more tiers!
  16. flies have been done for a while and just realized that the due date's coming up. need the addy swapmeister. With all the swaps between here and on other boards, I think my problem may be solved! oh and I decided to go with a little san juan variant I call the "fried worm". Basically it's a san juan worm tied on a swimming nymph hook and then singed ALL the way down the worm to make it skinnier, more like an aquatic worm we have here in our local tailwater. Also the harder fly means it gets more fish per fly before getting all chewed up!
  17. good deal! :headbang: still room for 7 more. Let's say we give it a week from now to end the sign up.
  18. ok gotcha. just a note to everyone though, these don't necesarily have to be flies that have a tungsten cone with lead wire on them. Something you would use with some split shot (aka your favorite nymph) and fished deep also works! This is what I do most of the time!
  19. Seeing that I've participated in 3 swaps on this board, I would love to host a swap for the fellow swappers. How about a "dredging" swap. If you aren't familiar with the term, it's just fishing down on the bottom really deep where the trout are 85% of the time. So think along the lines of flies that you would use in a really deep run with some current ripping through it. The types of flies where it doesn't really matter so long as it get's down there on the fishes level. I figure 12 swappers ought to be good with plenty of time to get a dozen flies tied by October 10. Beginners welcome! SWAP Closed! Sooner I get them, the sooner they go out. 1.bowlover- beadhead rainbow prince recieved 2.flytyinfreak-stonefly nymph- had to drop out 3.Bulldog5485- holographic bloodworm midge-recieved! 4.AF_Tier-hillbilly john. 5.atroutbum2-flashback hares ear- recieved 6. robdog- dark lords-recieved... sort of... 7. BigDaddyHub- deepwater clouser. 8.Fly tryer- sawyer Pheasant tails recieved 9.aaplant-tbd recieved 10.Rfinn- bh hot spot pheasant tails recieved 11.flyfisher 13: lead eye bugger recieved 12.Orange Caddis- casual dress ?????
  20. no problem waiting here. Did catch a few wild brookies one one of my sulpher dries on sunday. could have used any dry fly to catch them though.
  21. Got mine a few days ago as well. Great ties everybody Tried some of the copper johns in a really deep hole fishing way back in the mountains of North Georgia for some wild Brook trout. After gettting really deep in the hole, I puled my biggest wild brookie to date from that hole! This is a pretty big fish for a creek this size!
  22. mine are in the hands of the postal service. Admittingly, nymphs and wets are my strong point as that's what I mostly tie/ fish. But the "wingless dry" in there has given me quite a few memorable days when the sulphers were popping off in good numbers.
  23. done. need the ady and will get it out tommorow or Friday
