  1. I like these. I've been thinking back about the days that I would fish with soft plastic jerkbaits that were rigged to be weedless, these remind me a lot of them. I may have to play around with this pattern of yours a bit.
  2. Thanks for the reply I will have to check into that.
  3. I was wanting to start tinkering around with UV resin, but not really wanting to drop 40 dollars on a light. Would something like this light work? http://m.homedepot.com/p/Defiant-UV-LED-Flashlight-809-2717-D/203138543
  4. I look at Instagram as another tool. It has had just as much as an impact as FTF has in my tying. I've found some local tyers/fishermen on there as well I didn't know about also. I've started following some of y'all since this post started. You can find me under briancrigler if interested.
  5. Thanks again for all of the input. I've got a few different flies tied up, hoping to try them out tomorrow.
  6. Thanks for all the information guys, I appreciate it.
  7. I've been wanting to do this for awhile but have never got around to it so I reckon there is no better time then now. I've been looking into flies for gar and the most common is the rope fly. I don't like the thought of using a hookless fly, what if I miss a hook up on a nice bass or something because I have no hook? So I was wondering if anyone else out there fishes for gar and what they use. I have seen the flies on circle hooks as well. I am just trying to get some advice, not a whole lot out there. Thanks in advance.
