  1. I did not get an image. The bug was on bear creek in colorado. The bear creek runs out of Evergreen lake and into bear creek reservoir just west of Denver. There was a hatch oh a little yellow bug, maybe a size 18-20 on average but the way the bug flew was odd. You know the helicopter seeds that fall from maple tree's? It flew like those seeds and maybe two little tails hanging below? This sound familiar to anyone?
  2. Went in to Charlies fly box today to see Greg and ask him about the pattern but greg had the day off. I asked Charlie and Dave about wether its supposed to be a lake chrono or a stream chrono, and they said stream chrono. My next question was why is it on such a long hook creating such a long body and they just cracked up! Apparently they dont know why other than Greg apparently has a thing for 200r's.
  3. Anyone know where I can find one right now? I've been scowering the net to no luck. Looking for a whiting hebert hen cape in coachman?
  4. That's funny, Greg was helping me make sure I had the stuff I needed. I just didnt realize he was Greg "Garcia". Funny when you dont get last names.
  5. Thanks Dez, that's kind of the feeling I had but wasnt sure. I'm pretty new to the Ento/tying stuff. I've noticed the tuff on some images, and belevie the peacock hurl looks like the abdomen a bit. I still have yet to catch any midge pupa in my net. I might have had a couple yesterday, but not positive.
  6. I ask this because when I hear the word "midge" i think of the curvature and size of our black beauties and zebra's etc. so to tie another midge on a 200r with a red bead and tuff confuses me. That's why i think I feel more comfortable tying on the 2488. Can anyone explain why the longer, more straight body, red mead over mercury and tuff?
  7. What hooks do you use? Images look like TMC 2488's but 200R's are listed. Should Rojo midges be about the same size as regular midges? Any one know the theory behind the colors and structure of the GRM?
  8. Wondering what magnifaction and magnifier people are using for 24-18 size flies.
  9. Olive midges, copper and red CJ's, and EHC's.
  10. No need to apologize beadhead, I appreciate the link. I've found previous posts saying he has great hackle, but he's old school, I'm new school. We butted heads, and it happens. Whiting has great capes that are available just as well as he does. All in all, I can tie with some feathers now. Thanks for the help.
  11. Beadhead, thanks for the link. It sounds like he has some pretty good hackle but had a bad experience on the phone with him. He pretty much started the conversation off by telling me i'm an idiot if I buying anything better than a grade 3/bronze, aafter talking for about 15 minutes told me I should buy a grab back and that he would put together the 4 colors I would like but when shipping it he couldnt guarantee they would be the colors I want. That confused the hell out of me. Then as I was asking about COD, which is advertised on his website, he said he doesnt do COD anymore. I asked if he ever considered using paypal or Square, and you would think I accused the man of robbing us. I understand he's old school, but he's a grumpy old man if you ask me. Whiting got my money today, bought a silver brown whiting rooster cape. I'll just have to take my time with the other colors.
  12. Thanks again guys. Last question now. Anyone know of a place I can find the Whiting Rooster Full Cape 1/2 Brown !/2 Grizzly, in Bronze or Silver?
  13. Thanks guys. Yeah the picture was a quick clip with my iphone. It was hard to get it to zoom in one that as the minimal zoom distance is like 1.3 feet. I was lucky to get it that clear lol. As far as addiction, I think that's an under statement.
