  1. i'm liking all the ategories so far. I was thinking maybe a baitfish pattern for one month, either just general baitfish, or EP/Craftfur type baitfish. Also, maybe a month for deer hair, maybe not only "bass bugs" but just "you have to incorporate deer hair". just some ideas. I like using large dry flies for bass too. basically just large trout style flies. I've done well on size 8-6 elk hair caddis, and large red humpy variation.
  2. welcome flyrodman! I too am tying a leech, but not a bunny leech, so no problems. Mine's just a "leechy" type thing i made up. Works good for bass, or panfish, in smaller sizes. I'm not sure yet but I'm gonna tie mine on either a size 4 or maybe a 6. (Probably a 4, but i'm not sure yet)
  3. Address please. (wasn't sure if you saw my previous post, or just busy with holidays)
  4. Ready for an address. Oh, and i decided on a pattern (obviously) it has no name though, I'll just call it a "stretch tube, rubber leg, soft hackle, black stone" size 12 3xl curved hook. (i think thats the size) Great looking flies so far everyone. I'll see if i can get a pic of mine up, but no promises.
  5. i got mine last week, just haven't had time to post. All the flies looks fantastic! great ties everyone, and thanks for hosting! p.s. Servicetech, i now have two of your flies (this swap, and the "little bit of everything" swap) I really like your style, may have to try to copy some of your flies
  6. I'm shocked that no one has responded to this so far. I think I'd be interested, but my wife has a c-section scheduled on the 29th of this month. Between the 2 1/2 year old boy i have now, and the newborn on the way, i'm not sure how much tying time i'd have for this, at least EVERY month. I joined the bass swap that is going on now, as i know i can knock out some leeches pretty easily, but i'm not sure i could do things like deer hair bugs in a timely manner. If there's enough interest, and a list of the monthly requirements, i MAY be interested, or maybe listed as an alternate for a few months, i dunno, lets see if others are more interested first.
  7. I'm in. I'll do a leech pattern. Not sure which one exactly, but I'll let you know when i figure it out.
  8. Great news! My wife presented me with a package today saying "your fly ties came in today". LOL, when i'm tying some flies she like to say, "are you making some fly ties"? Anyways, great ties everyone! these will all get some use this summer. gpd4 - that is one nice popper!Beautiful paint job on the head. Margaret - Great looking shrimp, smallies and largemouth are going to love that! Everyone else are amazing too, just not enough time to compliment them all individually. Thanks for hosting, and sorry for all the drama that went along with this, but it's all good now! Thanks again!
  9. Well, I'm and idiot I received a package from myself today. I put the wrong envelope on the inside, so i mailed the flies to myself. I promptly fixed my stupid mistake and the flies were dropped in the mailbox this afternoon. (with the correct address this time). Sorry for my delay / stupidity. I may or may not have been under the influence of some strong painkillers when i mailed it out the first time. (Don't worry, they were legal/ prescribed for the tooth i had extracted, which resulted in a hole in my sinus cavity, and a mild case of dry socket ) Anyways, flies should be to you by Monday/ Tuesday. Once again, sorry for my delay, i should meet the deadline though.
  10. i am soooo glad peoplefinally started receiving some flies! I'll let you know when i get mine. Thanks for hosting Margaret.
  11. That looks great! I'm still working on mine. I have a basic pattern developed, but i recently got several new colors of hen soft hackle patches, stretch tubing, and dubbing, so now i gotta figure out which combination of materials i like best. I'll try to post a pic up once i figure it out.
  12. 100% agree. I think you seem trustworthy, your postal workers.... maybe not so much. I would give them a call. I routinely order from a company based out of california, once every 2 weeks or so, and it usually take about 3-4 days first class, to get to Ohio. I too, am not mad at you Margaret, but someone, somewhere, isn't doing their job. Next time just send the flies with a homing pigeon.
  13. ok, toe tags are done, All the flies with no toe tags are extras for the SM. I'm heading off to work, but on my way home i will stop and get some padded envelopes, and a few more stamps. Then, tomorrow they will go in the mail.
  14. making my toe tags RIGHT NOW Flies will be in the drop box tonight? tomorrow morning at latest. Sorry to procrastinate. The flies have been tied for weeks now, i just forget about the toe tags.
  15. I'm in with a pattern TBD.
  16. Thank you for the update Personally, i was never mad/ upset with you, just getting concerned. Glad to hear that you have spoken with the USPS. Waiting a little longer is no big deal for me, as i'm pretty much done fly fishing for the year Stupid winter. Thanks for your effort in making sure this goes through.
  17. I haven't lost faith in Margaret completely yet, and if this does go bad i won't let it ruin future swaps for me... I'm already in the "trout dry fly" swap, and plan on joining another when i see something that catches my eye. I can't wait to host my own swap.
  18. i keep forgetting to make toe tags and send mine off... I'm going to make an effort to have mine mailed out Monday. I know I'm not late yet, but i feel bad for not sending them yet. Good news though, there's lots of extras for the SM!
  19. I hope to see them soon. This being my first swap, i was very excited. So far i have been left with a bad taste in my mouth... That could be from the tooth i just had pulled though too.
  20. So glad they've been found! No worries about the delay. I'm just glad that you located them.
  21. I'm almost done. I've got 12 tied up, but I'm going to tie a few more, just for fun . Address please! (hopefully i can get them mailed out early next week, gotta make toe tags still)
  22. Hurray! i can't wait to receive them. Thanks for hosting Margaret, and thanks to everyone who participated.
