  1. hi Frank and Tompa Newfoundland is where these flies are going in 22 days. I will be based at the Lower Humber. Hi Willowhead Go fishing these Atlantic salmon next season. Dont prospone it any longer or you will just end up in the old mens home complaining about all the things you did not manage to do when you were still able to and feeling sad. I agree with Frank. Newfoundland is a good alternative to Gaspe and cheaper I think. And to the rest of you guys Thanks for your comments Jens

  13. Hi Guys I am back from a hard week in Scotland in tuff weather condition and water temperature at 34 F. Salmon was rare and I had none to my rod, but that is salmon fishing. We were 22 Scandinavian guys challanging the salmon. The result was 11 salmon for the week. The positive side was that I got a lot of casting practise I almost got frost bite in the hands taking the photo of the Akroyd in it´s right environment. The place is The Moral Pool on the Upper Woodend Beat. Regards Jens
  14. Hi Joe Ok Well I do not fish with gut eyed flies so I thought that it was for display. Do you fish these gut eyed flies? Anyway the old Dee Spring patterns like Akroyd was tied on big hooks up to 10/0. nicknamed "Meathooks" and when the tiers could not get long enough wing materiel they just put on two pairs of wing see the pictures. The ones I fish goes up to 1/0 and are tied on Partridge Barleet hooks (CS10) Like the one on the pic taken right out of my box. Regards Jens
  15. Hi Mike Thanks I use a sinking shooting head with a relative short leader. Sinking desity depending of the temperature (air/water), water level and current. Regards Jens

  20. Hi all Now I am ready for next weeks "battle" against the Atlantic salmon on the Royal Dee in Scotland. The fishing is typically done with sinking lines and longwinged tubes. On the picture you can see two exsamples on these tubes. Hope you like them. Jens
  21. hi Bobfly Beautifull flies. Very nice work NO better than that exellent work  I have been doing these convertions for years and caught a number of Atlantic salmon on them. Only difference my flies was not as pretty as yours (and mayby one or two details less was incorporated). The ones I had tied and tested are Silver, Blue and Black Doctors, Thunder & Lightning, Green Highlander, Mar lodge and Blue Charm. The salmon on the pic was taken on a Blue Docter. You have to come over to this side of the world and give these flies a try for some real FISH. Regards Jens
  22. Hi all Here is a great salmon catcher The Night Hawk. Hope you like it. Regards Jens
  23. Hi frank Beautifull Speys. You really dressed those Alec jackson hooks very well. I particually like the first one to the left the one with the Brown feather. Got a nice flow over it. What feathers do you use for wings? regards Jens
  24. Hi Nice little fish. I hope you remembered to release it after taking the picture . This fly will surely work on the Danish coast for seatrout. Great tie  Regards Jens
  25. Hi Thomas That is a beautifull fly with a fantastic teardrop tapered wing. That black & white constallation in the pattern is a real seatrout killer (I did not know you could get White flouru fibre, now I simply have to buy some!). regards Jens To Palli concerning the turbodisc My theori is that it helps pushing the water and gives some turbolens that makes the wing move even better. You still need a well tapered wing to get the most out of it. Ps take a look at my posting from 11th September 2007
