  1. Thanx Gents! I love seeing other people's collections/libraries. It is really funny seeing so many collections with the same titles/authors! I posted this on one of the other threads... I hope you don't mind, perhaps, it wasn't read. Gary L's, presentation copy to his first college professor of entomology!! Sent shivers down me. Have no idea why anyone would ever give up this copy? Thanx for posting, everyone... I'm lovin' it!
  2. This is a great collection @SalarMan! I have everyone of the titles that I can make out. All of the Flyfishers Classic Library (FCL's), I have the original editions. Your copy of Radencich's, "CSFP's"... looks well loved! The book on the bottom shelf, about 6th from the left with the burgundy binding... what is this?
  3. Nay..., Nay..., He was brilliant... all of the time! I have posted elsewhere about my fishing book collection, and this is one of my most cherished!... This actually sent chills down me when I found this! A presentation copy, to his first Entomology Professor in collage! Along with his rare book award advertisement, put out by his publisher. It doesn't get any better..., the beginnings of Mr. LaFontaine! @chugbug27, thanks for posting this up!
  4. This is funny you mention these, as the Bergman and Bates titles are among my favorites, along with Bates, "Streamers and Bucktails"! Yeah, I've been called a little crazy with all of my collections...!! I have collected all of the editions and printings of each. This was quite a task for, "Trout", as you can see! I never counted how many, but there's a bunch! Then I got the idea for the 3, "Streamers and Bucktails". Most of the duplicates are also signed, personal notes, etc. Thanks for all of the great replies... keep 'em coming!!
  5. Hello All, I am HUGE into the Flyfishing/Fly tying books! I have searched around a little and there are mentions of books, here and there. I thought it might be a neat idea for people to post up what they have or, are tying from. My extensive library consists of many rare and valuable editions from the 1600's to the present! I have primarily English and American volumes. A few years ago, I ran into some hard times and had to ship some of the really nice volumes off to an auction house in England and one here in the US. The English titles went to England and the American titles went to a large auction house here. However, I still have many desirable titles/authors left in the collection. Also, many old and new Limited Editions. It took a few years for the sting to go away, but I have just started getting back into them. Currently, I am thumbing through this classic volume... jpg Sorry for the glare off of the protective cover. I figured I would start out with something, not so wild and Mr. Radencich gets so much reference here (as he should!).
  6. Sorry for reviving this 9 month old post. I hope I am not being crass... but, @KrakenFly, do you sell any of your full dress salmon flies? Thank you, Robert PS: Absolutely beautiful photography!
  7. WOW... Thank you so very much, Norm @Flytire!! I appreciate you throwing out your feelers for this one! I have almost a dozen around here and maybe now I can display them better. Only 3 are mounted on cards and the rest are loose in bags with his signature and the named flies. Can anyone place a value on these for me? Watched the video... awesome! Sorry to hear he passed in 2013. Once again... thank you one and all, esp. Norm! Lookey what I found... it's on order!: HAIR-HACKLE TYING TECHNIQUES & FLY PATTERNS: TROUT, BASS, SALMON, STEELHEAD, SALTWATER. By Gordon Mackenzie of Redcastle.
  8. Hello All, New here. Been flyfishing for too many years to mention, and over the years, I have collected many flies and fly plates by many tyers. I was cleaning out a drawer and ran across these, and for the life of me, I can't remember where I got them from and who tied them! I can't make out the signature and thought perhaps, someone here has run across him, or can give me more information on the tyer. What I can possibly make out...: Gordon B. Mache----- Red--------tt (??) Thank you all, in advance, Robert
