skidoosh 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2023 I'm new to tube flies. I see a lot of discs on tube flies, do I need discs? I know I can tie them without but what are the benefits? Where do you get yours?

Where do you get yours? if i was just starting out tying tube flies (and i'm not about to start any time in my remaining lifetime) i would start out with the most basic of tube flies and then graduate from there maybe a basic kit
Mark Knapp 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2023 Just now, flytire said: google found these Thanks. I have a lot of tube fly stuff though I'm not a huge fan. I've never seen those. They must be for spreading the fly, like reverse tying bucktail, and probably for disturbing more water. I'd say, to the OP, if you don't need them, then you don't need them. They are for solving a problem, do you have a problem to solve. You can try some and see if you like them. See if they are effective for your waters, type of fly you like to tie and species you like to target. It's all about you, man. There are no rules, except, don't sit in Silvercreeks spot.đŸ˜„
