billb 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2006 Have been enjoying reading posts here, and figured it was time to join in. Baitfish and striper runs won't come soon enough in the Kennebec to suit me this year because I started my fly tying too early this winter and am eager to get out on the water. -- Bill

Dble Haul 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2006 Welcome. I grew up in Maine and my family is still there. I have fished Casco Bay extensively, and the Kennebec a few times. You have some good water there.
billb 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2006 Thanks for the welcomes, guys. Mark: Have fished stripers at the mouth of the Presumpscot a few times, but pick up most of my saltwater wind knots at Popham. Am going to rely on the kindness of both friends and strangers this spring to get better acquainted with the striper run farther up the Kennebec. Haven't fished the river around Augusta since the Edwards Dam came out in '99. Maybe we'll meet out on the river some time. -- Bill
