Hi Mokai,

Your combination seems to be working VERY well for you. Good Job!

Are you using the D40 or the D40x? And is the Nikon 105mm at "Micro" or "Macro" lense. I'm curious because I've been looking at the D40x and was wondering about the macro lense. I need a unit that will fill the frame with a size 8 dry fly hook. Take care & ...

I have the 6.1 MP D40..The Micro is just Nikons way of saying Macro..And yes you can more than fill the frame with a size 8 fly with the 105mm..

Here is a LINK to my web page that shows how well the lens works for flies..I highly recomend the D40 for its compact size and its powerful imaging..
