Dustin's Grub

Recommended Posts

I tied a fly for panfish, dont have pics though.here's the ingredients:

Hook: size 6 Aberdeen

Thread: White (or to match body color)

Body: Tan(or whatever color you want) Superfoam (wrapped around hook shank)

Tail: White Marabou (or whatever color you want)

Bead Head: 3/16" gold

To tie, simple put on bead head, then tie on a clump of marabou (about 1/2 shank in length).Cut a long thin piece of superfoam, tie it on,advance thread to bead, then wrap the foam around the shank to the bead head(tightly, but dont snap the piece). Simple, and I look to try it this summer.I want a slow sinking fly that rock bass and small smallmouth wil have to take a swipe at.

Dude we so need a pic of this fly for reference I have been looking for something, that sinks slowly and that the goggle eyes won't have a choice but to clamp onto just to find out if it's edible or not and this sounds like the ticket. SO COME ON WITH THE PICS!!!!!!

Hook size 12.

Thread black

body rat tail 2mm from craft store

head black dubbing.

Tie in at the tail and put a little zap-a-gap on this to make it more durable.
