mswaterfowler 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 Does anyone here use emu hackle? If so, what pattern do you use it for. I might be getting some in a kit and was wondering what to use it for. A recipe would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
DancesWithHeadCement 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2008 EMU is almost identical to ostrich in it's usage - the plumes have the same fuzzy, fiberous makeup that you get from a large ostrich plume. I get Emu from the feather dusters you find in grocery or hardware stores, light grey - a bit darker in the center by the stem. Works wonderful. Philly 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Here's links to three patterns I came up with after I received a bag of feathers from a road-killed emu. A nymph, emerger and a dun. http://www.virtualflybox.com/patterns/pattern.php?id=512 http://www.virtualflybox.com/patterns/pattern.php?id=513 http://www.virtualflybox.com/patterns/pattern.php?id=
