Mustang Mike 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2008 All of the flies have been divided and everyone received an extra one thanks to cencalfly. He tossed in a nice looking dropper for each of you that should help slay 'em! When I finished getting everyone's flies sorted, I was again amazed at the quality of what each of you have tyed. You guys flat ROCK!! :headbang: I thank each of you for the extras. I won't need to add to my dry fly box for a few trips!! You are all a credit to the forum and I hope you enjoy the flies that each of you have tyed! I will post later in the summer for another dry fly swap and if I do, I will be sure to add a fly or two for any of you who join in. I'll try to get these in the mail by Monday AM. professori - Yours will take an extra day or two to get out as I need to hit the post office in person. Hope you don;t mind the slight delay! Holler when you get your flies and please let me now if any of you don't see them in an appropriate amount of time.

Mustang Mike 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 All the envelopes hit the mailbox last night with the exception of Gary's which I will have to take directly to the post office as soon as I can spare some time in the next day or so. Two of our swappers bailed without any notification (see the list on pages 1 or 6), unfortunately that does happen in these swaps occasionally. I look forward to hearing back from you guys when your flies get to you and having some of you guys back when I host a dry fly swap later this summer!! You guys made this a very memorable swap for me. It was a pleasure hosting it for you guys!!!!
Dezod 0 Report post Posted June 23, 2008 Mike Thanks for hosting. As this was my first swap I was somewhat anxious as to how it would all work out. It has been real fun and I look forward to your dry fly swap later this year. C

cencalfly 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Hi All, Received the flies yesterday and they all look great. Going to try them out this weekend. The flows are down on one of my favorite haunts and some these flies may just be the ticket. JP

I wonder what it's like up in the Shaver Lake area or up by Sierra Summit?? There was zero water last year and some of the toughest fishing conditions I've EVER seen up there!! cencalfly 0 Report post Posted June 26, 2008 Mike, There is a lot of smoke right now. There is a chance the smoke will start to clear this weekend but there are more thunder storms expected. Check out the links to the web cams. It almost looks like fog and the sky has an orange tint. http://www.yosemite.org/vryos/TurtlebackCam.htm http://www.sierramarina.com/camera.html I was at the Kings in Cedar Grove over Fathers Day and it was still raging. So it looks good for later in the season. Last year I stayed completely off the Merced becuase of low flows in the fall. Flows got below 20 cfs and water temps started to hover around the mid seventies. Very scary. Right now it's just under 1000 cfs so the fall there and elswhere will be much better this year. Right now Dinky looks good and the SF Kings has come down. The backcountry is also open. Buzz's Fly shop in Visalia is good place to get info. Dezod 0 Report post Posted June 28, 2008 Got my flies a couple of days ago, they all look very good. I am very excited to put some of them in the water, and some of them in a fly box for reference if I want to tie up some additional flies. I am new to this and these swaps provide an excelent forum for ideas with all the excitement of a kid at Christmas. Mike thanks again for hosting and everyone else for their flies.
