Sampler 0 Report post Posted June 29, 2008 Here a first attempt. The hook is 3366 size 4. Foam is Spirit River 2mm. I didn't wind a hackle on before the tying in foam. I like this one, it will perfect for mid summer smalies You should do a step by step.

wayneb 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Hi All; I've printed out the instructions and pictures but am still confused on how to tie this pattern. How is the foam tied on to the hook and where? How do you keep the foam from bending around the hook once tied to it? Thnaks in advance; Wayneb
WeeHooker 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2019 Hi, I know this isan OLD toppic but does anyone have a picture of what the body looks like as cut by the template ? Or even better yet a source for a few bodies, template or cutter? I'd reallylike to switch up my Gurgler style frogs with some of these. Any help greatly appreciated! ggmiller 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2019 WeeHooker - you could always buy a completed fly and take it apart to get a template
flytire 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2019 maybe try to make the template yourself? it cant be that hard to cut a piece of foan into some sort of triangular shape, tie in the pointed end at the bend, wrap the body and pull the foam forward and tie off the size of hook you use gives you the dimensions you need to make a template be creative and experiment.
