BendBack

Recommended Posts

You take a hook and bend it back (opposite direction of the hook point) a little bit near the eye, then tie on wing materials on the same side as the hook point. It rides hook point up like a clouser and is near weedless. It is also a lot easier to pop out of the bushes. Here is one I tied with black bear fur that has worked well for me on the flats I prefer long shank hooks, like Mustad 34011, etc for them. Just don't bend the hook back to fr or it will weaken the shank. Just bend it until you feel it start to move, less is more.
