deer hair bugs

i am trying to learn to spin deer hair for bugs and was wondering what you all think the best type of thread to use? i was thinkin kev thread there are so many like mono thread and stuff, it is so hard to choose sad.gif

 

I have read many of the work-ups on these and was wantin to give them a try....do they really float that well?

threads, everyone uses whatever they like. I like (mono ) IT'S CLEAR an you can pull the hell out of it. BUT that ME.!

I don't differentiate between threads, basically use a 3/0 for smaller flies and a 210 for larger. It's all in how you train your fingers to react to the pressure you put on the bobbin.

I am tying hundrerds of Bugs each year and using only UNI Thread 6/0. Kevlar is also very good because it is not waxed!

I'm with Sawcat on this one. The gel spun thread is very strong and a great diameter. Fantastic stuff for deer hair.
