Question on making poppers

To add to Kirk's comment, I make a lot of my foam poppers with square sides. I just taper them down towards the tail; and the bass don't seem to mind at all! In fact, I cut them out of a rectangular block using my fillet knife and do not sand. Simply angle-cut down three sides, and cut a slit in the fourth (bottom)and glue in a hook and add a tail and a pair of eyes, and fish them.
