TUBE FLY SWAP

Recommended Posts

Mines in the post today so hopefully reach you by 21st

That date is not the due date. It is however how long I will take people in the swap, then close it. At that poing we will work with what we have.

I would like to know what the others think on how we can do it. I do like your idea. I will have to order more materials to do different flies.

Hi Kevin & co-swappers,

I'm fine tying 3 times four tubes, in fact I love doing different tube-styles. I've got all the material I need, but I must first complete two other swaps.

That is a joke isn't it? "With you by the 21st!!!" This is the Royal Mail we are talking about here. Mind you I did notice you didn't say what month or year.

Recent performance on cross Atlantic flies is two to six weeks.

Cheers,

C.

Um, the last 5 swaps arrived in 10days from leaving PO here in village so 21st should be about right. Try and send a parcel to Derby and I agree, that takes about 3 months and must involve the PO recruiting the john O groat lands end walkers to work in shifts dropping the post off along the route. Either that or the pigeons are getting fatter. ;)

Ok guys we all ne to understand there is no due date yet. I have to order material and I also know we have 3 international swappers. I know this takes time to get. I have had many, many swaps with Sjo in the take time to get them. After I get my stuff that I am ordering I will pm everyone to see what time they need to get them to me. Have fun and I hope to learn something from this swap. I am a pure virgin to tube flies so I'm looking forward to doing more. I also plan later to buy a dedicated tube vice.

I got the idea from a swap I hosted Curtisfly did a popper head on a tube with a hopper behind it for panfish the damn thing caught so many gills it scared me so I started tying my bass poppers on tubes and just putting the tailing material on the hook so I could change to different tails that might offer more or less movement depending on what is going on with the fish

Sounds good. Should work as a top water for salmon and seatrout too.
