Piker20 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 Praying for the day this stream turns up something bigger than 6oz. It has a real high flow in winter and this probably effects the potential of the resident browns.
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 It's a really pretty stream, but based on your photos, I doubt it's ever going to hold any monsters. The size of the stream will limit the food supply and the food supply will limit the size of the trout. The heavier winter flow probably isn't going to have much effect on insect life, etc. Your stream looks like a lot of our native brook trout streams in the northeastern U.S. The fish grow slowly and stay on the small side. They're still fun to fish though.
riffleriversteelheadslayer 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 I agree with Peter but it is great fun on a 3 wt to catch them smaller trout and they taste so much better very beautiful creek thanks for showing
Piker20 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2012 yeah there is plenty of fly life about but unless a couple of fish turn fish eaters I guess the dream of a big un stays just that. Still it is a great place to lose a few hours.
michiganborn 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2012 Absolutely beautiful. Rather catch a wild something-trout from there than a stocked monster in a less picturesque river. Fishing is only partly about fish :pp
