Alex C. 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2005 I used the almighty wooly bugger today ice fishing for perch and they liked it, alot. Is there a more versatile fly? The perch I caught were also the first fish I have caught with a fly I tied myself Now I want to tie one with a all krystal flash tail about half the length of the hool shank. The one I used today had an olive marabou tail with a few strands of krystal flash, black chenille body, and medium dun hackle, with a silver bead on a #8 3xl streamer hook. Kodiak Commando 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2005 skunked wrote QUOTE Is there a more versatile fly? The only fly in my experience that is as versatile and a wooly bugger is the clauser minnow. I'v caught many fish on both flies in salt and freshwater.
