whatfly 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 Typically, I fish more #14 and #16 than any other size for trout. Use a 2XL hook.
bighornbuster 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 16s and 18s. In the rubberlegs version 14s and 12s. Have fun
gmonigold 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2014 I also tie the rubber leg Copper John in 12 & 14. Since it is a slightly more simple patter than the "tradiitional" Copper John it makes a good gateway to tying in smaller sizes. I've also used Loctite Go2 glue (as suggested by the HammerCreek YouTube video) instead of epoxy and have found it way easier to apply well.

vicrider 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2014 Couple of great looking tie you guys got there. gmonigold, what is the thing that looks like a little circle right in the middle of the X of the legs? Kind of strange looking in the pic but sure a nice tie. Both of you guys have a couple of "users" there.

muskyhunter81 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2014 I do size 12, 16, and 20. Then I have it covered. Sometimes I fish a 20 off the back of a 12.
gmonigold 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2014 vicrider, the circle in the center of the epoxy is...the reflection from the tying lamp on my bench. My photography skills need work.
