That's a fly alright

 

Am i the only person thats figured that the simplest patterns are the most effective? Crazy Charlie, Gotcha, Clouser, Griffiths gnat, egg, deceiver, it goes on. Right?

Hi CM Stewart,

 

Tie him up some Orange Otters too. Looking at the history of that fly and how it was fished, it seems to be an egg pattern way before the term was even coined or thought of.

Awesome, I love it.

 

I have a friend who claims to be a dry fly purist. But he makes no bones about letting an Elk Hair Caddis get water logged and fishing it as a wet.
