They seem to be quality-built, nice anodizing, sound nice. Just playing with it for a moment doesn't tell me much more than that, but both folks are happy with them - that's the most important thing. Mike B Yeah I hear you. I fished with a guy Wednesday that makes fly reels and he was nice enough to let me use his reel all day... I didn't get to hook any good fish on it that took me down to the reel, but I know what you mean. Basically I held it all day and that was it. But what I could tell it was high quality. Crisp, good anadizing, fully machines, light, etc... the drag seemed pretty smooth too from just stripping line, but yeah. Without actually landing a big fish, it's hard to tell how the reel will fully proform in those conditions. Thanks for the info. Have you seen Allens rods at all?
