A wire weedguard is pretty much a signature on just about every pattern I generate (if possible....). It allows you to actually toss a fly into the bushes and then slide it back out and allow it to drop right where you wanted it in the first place...

Yeah, it would be for me also if I fished your area... I generally am tying trout and (some) bass flies. I used to tie a lot of saltwater patterns when I lived on the gulf, but It was in TX and we didnt have mangroves. Just fished large open flats for reds, specs, etc...
