Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2021 Just off the bench, a very subtle looking 10' 3wt with all brown burl grip, rosewood seat, classic twist red& black wraps with single turn metallic silver trim.
J-Kno 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2021 That's simply elegant! Single wraps are INCREDIBLE!
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2021 Thanks. Single turns look good, but are a bit of a pain to do.
skeet3t 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2021 FWIW, I did some single turns with a drop of CA glue, let it set, wrap the thread around to get the length and apply glue and cut with an X-acto knife. There are other ways but any way they can be a pain, too. BTW, another nice rod.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2021 I do mine that way as well. It's not that it's "hard" persay, but just more time consuming because you have to be careful to not get too much CA on them, or it can discolor the wraps, also near the thinner upper sections it has a tendency to come undone if you don't wait long enough to do the final/2nd side of the wrap. More irritating than actually hard.
