  1. They did , I ordered mine on March 23rd and still showing as processing , so hope to see in a few days.
  2. I started with the tool kit from cabelas-http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fly-Fishing/Fly-Tying/Tools-Vises|/pc/104793480/c/104721480/sc/104340780/i/103884480/Cabelas-Deluxe-Tool-Kit-with-Case/732320.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ftools-vises%2F_%2FN-1100441%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_103884480%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%253Bcat104721480%253Bcat104340780&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104721480%3Bcat104340780%3Bcat103884480 and picked a few flies that I wanted to learn to tie and picked up the materials and went from there. It is addicting to say the least.
  3. I have your website in my bookmarks, love the stuff you tie. I am going to try your cicada x pattern over the next few days. Hopefully it looks at least somewhat like your does. Plan on trying a few of your patterns as my skills progress.
  4. Cool thanks for the response, will keep watching and hopefully I can get in on one.
  5. How would I go about possibly joining this swap? I am a noob to tying and would like to join in one. My biggest question is how long before the flies need to be to you? I wouldnt want to join a swap and not be able to complete it in a timely manner. Thanks
  6. Have ordered some and waiting, cant wait to see how they perform.
  7. This is too cool , gonna have to watch this thread and see how this develops.
  8. Your questions indicate you haven't bothered to use the FTF search feature or the database. If you had, you'd know there are a lot of members who make their own poppers and there's plenty of instruction in numerous threads. You've asked for enough information to fill a book, when you could easily find it yourself with a little effort. Maybe I am out of line being a noob on the site, but, responses like this are the reason I dont post much here. I tried to use the search feature with zero success, also tried to use the database that doesnt work. I even sent a pm to a mod about it and didnt get a response. So that is why you get questions like this. Just my 2 cents worth
  9. Looks good, I am just starting out as well and working my way up the fly chain to more and more difficult flies.
  10. Here is the pattern http://www.flytyingforum.com/pattern12235.html
  11. Yeah they are little bead chain eyes, it is the cypert minnow pattern. Guy at Backwoods outdoor shop in Ft Worth showed my how to do it, found it on here as well when I went to tie mine up so that I didnt forget any steps. I just noticed in the pic it is upside down. You actually tie it hook up.
  12. Was a pretty easy tie as well, still need to work with the whip finish tool though because that is still killing me.
  13. Well here is a pattern I learned today from the fly guy while picking up some supplies. Told him I was new at tying and he showed me the pattern. It is a Cypert Minnow pattern and he said would be great for sandbass. So what does everyone think ? Thoughts or critique?
  14. Thanks, decided to start with a simple tie first to get used to using the tools, that whip finisher is kicking my tail.LOL I am also gonna try my luck at some small poppers as well.
