  1. I have used the bright colored Czech nymphs here in Idaho and they work well. Some of my best fish have been on an orange and black combination. Most of the people that nymph out here do not Czech nymph. They simply do not know what they are missing. Winefly
  2. You have done a fantastic job on those flies. Over the past year I have become very interested in weaving flies and those give me further reason to keep working at it. I will be very interested in your additioinal information on technique and materials. I am always looking for new ideas and these really help. winefly
  3. Josh, I think this is the term hackle stacker. I could be wrong but that is what it sounds like. Winefly
  4. I had been out of town for a week and just received my flies on Friday. What a great looking set. Thanks to everyone for the effort. I hope the fish salute these when I run them up the flag pole. Winefly
  5. Mine showed up today. Thanks for hosting OSD and thanks to all the tyers for such a nice collection of flies. I also had intended my extras for the SM. Winefly
  6. OSD, Flies are done and being mailed this morning. Winefly
  7. My plan worked, show signs of panic and the flies arrive. Nice work everyone! I plan to use these patterns to tie some flies that should be very effective in our streams in Idaho. Thanks to our SM for hosting a great swap. Winefly
  8. What a Monday! I received my set of woven flies, great patterns everyone and well tied. :yahoo: The weather was finally nice enough to sit outside for dinner and have a glass of wine while I studied the flies for more ideas. Hard to get any better than that, unless it is fishing those flies and having that glass of wine. Winefly
  9. The mailman must be out of town because no flies have arrived here yet. Not time to panic yet but getting close. :dunno: Winefly
  10. Not sure what the mailman is doing these days but no flies here yet. I will see what happens this week before I panic. :dunno: Winefly
  11. You have a great site there. I really like the pictures of the Expo, even saw the back of myself and granddaughter tying in one of them. That Expo is always a lot of fun. Winefly
  12. Mine finally showed up yesterday. Thanks everyone for the nice set of flies and thanks to the SM for hosting. Winefly
  13. Wicked, The expo was well attended and there were about 150 tyers. My grandaughters vice and tools never made the plane ride but thanks to lots of friends we had more than enough to get the job done. I think they had about 400 at the banquet/silent auction/live auction. This is one of the better expos around the west. Winefly
  14. I know that darn pony express is slow from this part of the country. That is why email is so wonderful. Too bad we cannot send flies that way. Just hope for the best but if I have to resend them I think I can get that done in time. Winefly
  15. What a great looking set of flies. I cannot wait to get them and start tying a few. Lately I have gotten into weaving flies and am having a great time. Thanks for hosting a great swap. Winefly Is anyone going to be in Idaho Falls, Idaho this weekend for the expo? My grandaughter and I will be tying there. It is a great show to attend if you get the chance.
  16. Overbrook, I put the flies in the mail the day I sent the message, April 1. If they do not show up this week let me know. They took a bit of time to tie but I guess I could redo them if needed. :wallbash: Winefly
  17. I'm in. Will probably tie a pink cahill (pink albert). Winefly
  18. I will be mailing my set of RW&B Hoppers today. Let me know when they arrive. Winefly
  19. I was out last week for a spring break trip and returned home to a nice box of flies. Thanks to everyone for the nice work and thanks to the SM for hosting. This was my first swap but it will not be my last. Winefly
  20. The Czechs are in the mail. :yahoo: Winefly
  21. Big E nailed it again. :headbang: Winefly
  22. If interested check out this reference. http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20q?search=Hydropsychidae Winefly
  23. At the risk of being way to scientific, and I generally do not care to be this technical, the Czech nymph is just a style of fly but it can represent the Hydropsyche (net builders) and Ryacophila groups of caddis. I tie and use a lot of Czech nymph and fish them three at a time and this system really works. I agree, Czech nymphs do not have a tail. Winefly
  24. I think I have settled on this prototype for my RW&B Hopper for the swap. With any luck they will be done well before the deadline. I know the pattern works but not sure about the RW&B color scheme. Who cares, this is fun. :yahoo: Winefly
