  1. Thanks Tyrite, That simple pattern has been good to me, another one I have seems to attract anything with gills. I do not use it some days because I want some peace. It's a mystery. I call it River skipper, it is a buzzer. I haven't looked through the database to see if there is anything like it yet posted. If not then I will put the pattern up. Have a look.
  2. Hi, This is my second time tying deer hair. I find watching tying videos a good way to learn. You can pause it as you go step by step. Here's a picture of my second deer hair tie. A modified dabbler/Muddler.
  3. Okay I'm in!!!!!!yeah............ Next: Use copper wire Update I have contacted the Canadian Postal and the IRC are for letters only. 15cm x 24cm and a thickness of 5mm, so I will keep my word and send my flies to the swap ( once you confirm the amount and address) and you can give my swap mix to someone who has more than their fishing lines tight right now. If you get my drift. I'll have fun attempting to learn something new and we can put a smile on someone's face. Whaddya say ? Sounds like a plan to me.
  4. Thanks. I have just tried my first deer yesterday. Pathetic but here it is. Now don't be laughing too much. Wheres the hair you say? This is suppose to be a dabbler/muddler. I know I didn't put enough hair on and I'm not sure about the proportions, but heh, it is my first. You got some comments, I would love any hints available.
  5. Hi feathers5, I just put a few on the data base that work for me. I have only used them on a fresh water lake, in the shallow grass areas. Yet they are good for me. Ice Glow Midge and Ice Glow midge2. I have also used the hook with salmon egg or a peice of shrimp that works well also. Rainbow love them. Hope this helps you.
  6. Entries are starting to be submitted and deadline is drawing near. You do not want to miss out. I have a Fly Tying Contest in the works at the moment. You need jigglers to enter but it is fun. Have great prizes. A person has to have some fun over the winter. So check it out if your interested or not too busy. www.knitandmore.com/gpage3.html Here is an example of what you can do with the Jigglers. I thought it would be fun to start a little contest with a twist.
  7. I have found a great dealer for hooks. They are bought and shipped from the U.K. but they are my favorites. www.roydlures.com Check it out they may be to your liking.
  8. Thanks Dnthmn, I am new to both and I am trying to understand about the swapping. I am researching and if I am too inexperienced in post #'s then I won't be insulted. I'll probably have it figured it out by then.
  9. Thank you. As I have heard many say ' I tie to fish. If that means I go for the illusion more than design then I guess that would describe me. Since I am a rookie the comment is much appreciated.

  13. I'm new and would love to enter, even being Canadian with ? postage. Is there a place I can read the rules in full?
  14. I shop at the dungeon and the deals are great. Great products, the shipping is not that bad. At least you get the shipment, unlike some. Last order I got, the mad scientist was very busy and keeping above water. The dubbing is a fantastic deal. Check it out, but leave some for me.
