  1. I'm in for sure...I'm just running a Support our troops swap now for a returning friend / Seriviceman who happens to be a fly fishing nut. I'd love to send a handful of flies to support veterans...I'm going to start tying now.
  2. I like it...I'll get one today.
  3. I've butchered many paintbrushes over the years...I cut them off and then bag the fibers.
  4. They are known as 'Rob Mclean's Super tails". They are long semi-translucent fibers that are light yet fairly rigid. They are hard to find in Canada so I never bother. If you do a Google search for Rob Mclean's Super Tail, you might find something. They make a good long tail fibre for flies like spinners where two fibres are split apart for a tail.
  5. Evenings or just after lunch when my daughter is napping. My favorite time has to be when I'm camping in the trailer during a rain or storm.
  6. I'll get apicture of mine tonight. You'll get a good laugh. It's been smashed and torn a bit from trout so at least I can say it worked. I'll get it on tonight.
  7. I'm in that Swap and was very pleased to see he got his flies in...no question in miy mind anymore. 100% standup guy to me. He is welcome in any of my swaps anytime.
  8. Now that is artwork...very nice!!!
  9. Received flies today from 2bonthewater - very nice little flies. These will be deadly in a small favorite stream I we frequent. Thanks for the extras. You are a very generous person and I know they will be loved by a great friend. Some of those flies will be deadly on our Steelhead up here.
  10. Does anyone know foa site or place where I can learn more about tying woven bodies on flies? I've seen some on YOUTUBE but would like a good step by step if possible. I received some in a swap and have fallen crazy for them. I have to learn this technique.
  11. Recieved flies from Stewynofly today. Great flies. The Weeny flie is deadly up here in Canada and you've inspired me to tie a bunch of them in many colours. Thanks for the extras also. You are very generous and a great tier. I'm off tomorrow to buy a new fly box for my buddy so I can fit all these flies in it for him. He's going to flip as his last message about fishing was saying how he needs to borrow or buy flies this spring becasue he hasn't been able to tie for over 8 months. I can't wait until he sees this surprise. GREAT FLIES STEWYNOFLY...THANKS AGAIN.
  12. I just spent an hour or more reading the posts on the taxidermy site, and this one. Jim if you fulfill your obligations of the swaps, you'll definately hold your good name with me...I guess it's up to you. Sounds like a real mess you have...if it were me the computer would be out in the snowbank.
  13. You're 100% in my book Jim, and good luck working it all out.
  14. Large muddlers in different colours of deer hair.
  15. You must run a good swap because this is the second one of yours I'm joining....lol I'M IN - Early Spring Streamer
  16. start with yarn eggs, wooly buggers, and green butt skunks. From there you will earn some of the basics well and you can progress from that point.
  17. Recieved flies yesterday from IBRB - Those are the nicest Copper John's I've seen and the wire wrapping is perfection. You guys are going to love these. These will work great for our early season Brown trout. Thanks for the extras.
  18. I'd be interested but only if the numbers were limited to around 5-8...they take a while to create I find. this is one I used alot this summer with good success in Lake Ontario.
  19. I couldn't imagine doing what they do but I sure appreciate their service...
  20. I agree with the head cement, or thinned down epoxy...
  21. Address is: John Peppler 31 Swift Cr. Guelph Ontario Canada N1E 7J3 I've had a few questions for shipping. Keep in mind that the easiest adn cheapest way to ship is to place the flies between two pieces of cardboard (sandwiched) and then placed in a regular letter envelope. Keep in mind that I can ship most flies to anywhere in the US for about $2 USD. Aslong as the box isn't too big. If your fly box or package is large, then it may be about $3. International Reply Coupns also work...there's apost at the top about them. Thanks all. I look forward to the flies I have heard about...
  22. I use these all the time...when everything else isn't working on goes the crystal. nice flies
  23. I find any flashy minnow imitation works well, also buggers with alittle flash in them also. I'll try to get some pics of some of mine today or tonight.
  24. Glad you liked them...it was something new I started tying a month ago.
