  1. Lol it is true, here in the county of Floyd we often tie ropes and large stones to men's legs of the hairy chested nature, throw them off a bridge, if you float you live and are worshiped as a king if you don't then guess we will see you in a couple of weeks at the locks....bahahaha, how did you like the "ye old" english in that one She floats..... she's a witch!!!! No... she's a duck. And hair or not you look like you would definitely float!!!
  2. I got mine on Saturday and it certainly wasnt steve's fault for the long delay as they were postmarked 3/23. They must have been in limbo somewhere as Steve's BWOs for my swap got to me rather quickly. Thanks for hosting and give those Canadian posties hell for me!!! Great set of flys. I used Zydeco girl's prince nymph and got two nice bows and a stubborn golden palimino in this highly pressured bridge and bait pool on a new stream I recently discovered. Despite typically trying to avoid the bait crowd, I just LOOVVVE going in at their parking lot pool and pulling a few fish that have only been refusing their worms and powerbait. Their looks are priceless. Even more priceless are the looks and comments when I release them. I must admit that I did eat a bow for lunch the other day. hopefully the "Put and take" stockies don't carry the same health warnings as the rest of Pennsylvania native and/or wild fish? (no more than a 4 oz serving per week)
  3. Posted mine today. They are actually apple caddis Larvae not Pupae. Thanks for hosting. Bob
  4. 6 Months - How much do you tie? I can`t go 6 minutes without a major mess! I tie a lot, but I live alone, so I only have to clean up when I want to. You may be able to attract some companionship :serenade: if you vacuumed more often. :j_k: But then again you may have to fish less than too!
  5. Nice Fly Kevin. Is that for your swap? Rattlesnakes scare me quite a bit more since the periodic cicada hatch a few years back. I was climbing a rock slope to get to the road quicker. I was being careful tapping with a stick as the area is well known for Rattles (Ftown branch, Little J). I was about halfway up when one popped out of its rock home and came within a foot of hitting the brim of my hat. I actually tumbled down the slope, nearly broke a kneecap and ruined a pair of Simms waders.
  6. I did spot a real fat carp on this new section of creek I walked the other day. The stockies kept me from heading the mile or so to go get him, but I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES NOW!!!!
  7. Cspears. I was just commenting on how pretty a wife you caught!!! I dont know about all that crazy hair stuff. Given my Celtic lineage and lack of fur, I guess its good I dont live below that Mason Dixon line or Hub would export me!
  8. Congratulations Chris and cent anni for the little one. Actually she looks like a nice big girl already. Dont forget to give the wife some extra TLC over the next few weeks.
  9. Here is a big boy kayak. I handles all 320 lbs of me, surf launches and all. It has a real stable casting platform too. Great pictoral as well Terje. Certainly looks like a great bunch, place and captures what it really all is about, even with the big brown.
  10. Love the tail. Havent seen one like that before. I dont worry about fragility too much considering I still lose quite a few to the trees.
  11. That Looks great crackleback. Im glad you were able to put my mom's ribbon to good use!
  12. Welcome to PA J. Redietz asked the right question however. the little deer ticks are the ones that supposedly carry the lyme disease. I dont know what tool you used to get the buried head out but I just put a glob of vaseline or Neosporin on the tick and wait they usually pull out within the hour as I think this method suffocates them. I pulled three off my dog yesterday and my wife had one in her hair. My dog has not only a flea collar but also preventix liquid we apply and there really is no way to avoid these critters in this area. remember they migrate to warm places, so i use it as an excuse for ......... to turn a frown upside down.
  13. Take a hike and Im not being a smart @#$. I tried a new stream today and there were about seven powerbait and worm guys near the parking area. I walked less than a quarter mile upstream and fished continually going up from about 8 until 1 and didnt another angler. Fished the same double rig all the way upstream and got 9 stocked bows and one brown.
  14. Come over the bridge and down into SE PA. We've been open for a couple of weeks and the streams are already empty!!1
  15. I finished as well, Mel. Addy please!
  16. That was dam quick to get to the Netherlands. Mailed Monday afternoon and you got them on Thursday.
  17. I thought the same thing, color pencil with charcoal.
  18. Finished mine tonight. Get them out by the the weekend but then again the shad are moving upriver in these parts and I think I may be hitting the water. Our airtemps are running 30 degrees higher than normal. this is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Id like one too. Great place to tuck some of the classic wets I stilllllll intend to tie. For Natural Fleece you might want to check out this organic and local farmers site at www.localharvest.org to find a local farmer to provide the fleece. A local farmer near me is selling half and full fleeces for $95 and $165, respectively. Here is his site http://wynnorrfarm.com/lambskins.html. I was thinking about buying one to cover my truck seats. Ive never done business with them but am considering using them as my CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farmer this year. The research Ive done all sounded positive and Ive spoken with them and found them very forthcoming. Bob
  20. I uses of variant of an elk hair caddis. Body/thorax : brown or black cdc wrapped (I start with them shaggy and clip on stream as necessary) No hackle wing: black coastal dear hair (tied like elk hair caddis wing) That it. works for black grammons too!
  21. Nice Andres. I will take a dozen.
