  1. Hey Will, I think you may have misunderstood? It's a shelf for your materials and such, not a stepstool to stand on. Fishy.
  2. Oh..... Kori Bustard Fishy
  3. What did you call me?? kori bustard indeed! I'll be sure to just take a little so that all those after me drooling over your wares will get their share. Fish.
  4. YES!!!!! I shall now start the bidding for my position in the swap.... Not sure what all the fuss is about though? If I can't tie it into a bugger or zonker pattern it's just pretty feathers to me. Who wants to be me...? Fishy "I follow Bud" man
  5. The tips of soldering irons are copper..I actually did some art soldering at one time with the big ol irons you put in a forge to heat and then have to "tin" them before soldering. F.
  6. WOO HOOOOOO!!!! I have an "advanced member" now Fishydude
  7. Lemme guess....you tie while doing her laundry? Ya know buddy, with a couple 3 ways piggybacked into each other I've gotten as many as 9 separate appliances running from one outlet before blowing the breaker....Gives you something to shoot for eh? Fishydude.

  12. You sound alot like me...Not quite sure what you're doing but having fun doing it! C'mon in! GO HAWKS!!!!! Fishyman - University of Okoboji class of '96.
  13. I can do the end of August if I come home from work and actually tie instead of grabbing a frosty beverage and hanging around here talking about tying! Besides,...they're only a bit of yarn, some thread and a hook, what could go wrong? Fishy (smelling)
  14. Might as well bust my swap cherry on something simple. I'm in as long as I'm not expected to set the world afire with my tying abilities Probably a nuke egg and possibly a cluster or sucker spawn type thing, (Hey, It's an egg, isn't it?) if no objections. Fishy-"gonna have to tie well now"-man
  15. I guess it depends on if you're tying for function and practicality or if you're tying for aesthetics and appearance? While all flies are beautiful in their own way, I would have to say there's a big difference between a craw pattern that took me 20 minutes to tie and looks great and a fully dressed Jock Scott Salmon fly that would have taken someone 6 hours or more. Save the more difficult patterns for your own enjoyment and tie the more mundane for the fishes enjoyment. My 2 cents... Fishymon.
  16. I usually just straighten out a wire coat hanger. Fish
  17. T.B. I think you missed your calling. You should be a writer! At least theyve got great health care!!!! Fishy

    FIREWORKS

I live in Indiana where someone found a loophole in the law about 10-15 years ago which basically says that you can SELL and BUY fireworks, just not shoot them off in the state. Needless to say we have scads of fireworks warehouses, wholesalers and distributors where you can buy anything from little ladyfinger firecrackers to 6" skyburst shells which need a piece of sch80 pipe buried just to fire them. Of course, we would never DREAM of setting anything like that off in the state since it's ILLEGAL. Fishy 3 fingers
  19. Feel I should say something, just not sure what.... Thanks Graham. I'll remember to forward you the next good one I hear. Fishy.
  20. Wow, didn't realize how much time and money i was wasting. Guess I must have missed something along the way. Guess it's just a matter of personal prefrence. Fish
  21. I started with a Cortland 333 that I got on clearance for $15. I just let my local fly shop talk me into the Rio Clouser for my 6wt. I throw a lot of heavier (crawfish and clousers) patterns as well as wind resistant types(poppers, bunny leeches, dahlbergs) for Smallmouth. I want to marry the sales guy at the shop! I hate to say it, but yes, you pay for quality. Fishy.
  22. Try here...these are good dudes to deal with! http://www.traditionalangler.com/Braided_Loops.asp Fishy.
  23. I've owned my Peak for a little over a month now and love it! Do a google search on Peak fly tying vise reviews and then compare them with reviews for the Mongoose. It seemed pretty like a simple choice for me after reading these. Try Traditionalangler.com if you go with the Peak. Good dudes! Fishy.
