Ok Ok I give lol I don't tye many buggers and looking at these I can tell. I have some questions so I can copy these. First Decisions WHAT did you do to the head of yours? How did you do it? Next, djh262 did the beads get twisted on mine or is it correct? What's your thinking with this one? Vicente info on your hook and bead please. Flat Rock Native can I get the tying info? It looks like something I need for steelhead. I think I have the rest figured out. Kevin

2017 Spring Articulated Streamers
eastern fly replied to eastern fly's topic in Fly Swaps & Contests
Thanks everyone. -
I to use a lot of generic Q Tips to make them. The fly separates from the hook so all you have is the hook. You use smaller hook that decrease their leverage. You can change hooks without changing the fly. They don't tangle in your box. Kevin

Thank you I'm glad you like them all. I really do love articulated flies. Kevin -
Most are 1/0 to 3/0. Have you tried tubes for bass? Kevin
-
I guess. How many do I need so I can get them done. I have been working on some emergers for spring. Kevin

Ask that swapper to PM me their address. I would like to send them something for the swap please. Kevin

For my articulated flies I like the round bend worm hook. I get mine for BPS. Kevin

Well this is just my 2 cents. With that fly I'm asking what size are your beads? Don't make your loop to tight. Maybe try 3 of the smaller beads like the kind from WM. I use a lot of them. Smaller hook in the rear. Larger in front like you have. I use both long shank and short depending on the fly. Have you considered more body on the rear hook? This fly has the small beads in it. Come on man your killing me I said I wasn't getting to any more swaps for a while. Kevin

Kevin, I would normally jump right in but afraid I have overcommitted myself (many swaps since Jan) and decent fishing weather is finally upon me...Still if the due date was, say May 15, I would likely be unable to resist... But 7 Weeks out is not fair to folks that want to fish these patterns much sooner. You might also rule that hooks be Saltwater friendly so patterns have crossover appeal, not usually much Salt Swapping on the board. FWIW I like the idea, anyone can use a hook of that type. I will give it a few more days then go with what we have and maybe have a quick turnaround. Kevin
