Nice job.Much better than my first tied flies.

I use the Sharpie permanent markers mostly for accent's.Stripes on rubber legs, barring fur and feathers, marking on foam flies. They work great. I have not used the Copic markers but i hear a lot about them also.

I my younger days we used WD-40 on catfish bait and they go crazy for it.There were pay lakes here that offered prize money for tagged fish and they had actually banned the use of WD-40 because it is so effective. I have used Rain X on flies and it worked great.

According to the Cabela's web site Tiemco, Umpqua and Gami fly tying hooks and maybe others are still on sale. I ran into the same scenario where the sales people have no clue about the sale. They will ring up correctly at the register. I believe that Cabela's ships to the stores for free as well. Thank's. I am going back tomorrow to purchase more.I will get a few hooks this time.

I was at the cabelas in lexington ky yesterday and they still had the 30% off all tying materials.Did not apply to the hooks though. They had a pretty nice selection of materials.

I have had the 835 with the extra deer slug barrel for several yrs and have had no issues at all with it.Kicks like a mule but a great shotgun. I have never owned or fired the 877 but have heard both good and bad about them. Most bad had to do with the looks of the gun and not the performance.I have 2 870's and love both them. I know they had a recall on the 877 a few yrs back.Something to do with the firing pin.

Ralph Coffman was a school teacher who had developed the fly called "The House and Lot". Eisenhower was fascinated with the fly and it was one of his favorites. That was one reason it was so popular. The modern version of this fly is called "The H and L Variant." It talks about him on page 23 of this copy of The American Fly Fisher.http://www.amff.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/2000-Vol26-No1web.pdf He was also Board President of Camp Tawonga before he died in 1989.https://tawonga.org/support/book-of-life/eleanor-coffman/ If the flies are original versions tied by him they may have some value.
