  1. I say if you want to start a blog then go for it.Start one and see how it goes.See what kind of following you are going to have. Set a time period and after that time if it is not doing as well as you hoped then close it down. What have you got to lose? Use your facebook and social media to advertise it.Keep it updated with content people will want to see.Keep it interesting so people want to come back. Success of the blog depends on the audience you attract to it. Good luck.
  2. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.I hope you and your families had a great day. I spent my day with family and friends.Had a wonderful day.
  3. He knew he was hooked.I have had them do that but alot of them just suck in the fly with just a really soft bite and keep swimming until they realize they are hooked. Then all hell breaks loose. Catfish love to roll when they are hooked and will react the same way.Maybe you have some catfish in the water.
  4. Nice looking nymph rod steve.Great color combo also.Great job!
  5. Welcome to the forum,Subsurface.
  6. Very nice fly Scott. Great SBS. Thank's for posting.
  7. The blue max lights look pretty nice to me.I had not seen them until i seen this post. The work station light with the double swivel would make a nice tying light. They also have a couple nice floor lamps that would work in the right place. 5900K and 96 CRI is right next to natural sunlight.Way better than any light i am currently using and excellent light for photographing flies if this is something you intend to do.Heck i think i may buy one of these. You may consider making a stand to go beside the desk to mount a workstation light to if you don't want to drill holes in it. Congrats on getting the new desk.
  8. I had this surgery on my right arm also few yrs ago.I am right handed. Was loosing my grip and dropping things alot. The carpel tunnel heals pretty quick.Elbow took a little longer. One thing that really helped was keeping my arm up.It would throb like a tooth ache when i let it hang. When sleeping i kept it up on a pillow and it eases the pain.Keep it higher than your heart.Lot's of tylenol.I think they gave me hydrocodone.Tylenol did more for the pain relief. Now i don't have the numbness any more in the fingers and no more wrist cramps when tying flies and my grip is a hell of a lot stronger. Hang in there Salty. It will heal up quicker than you think.
  9. They make a great looking fly but man they are expensive. Thanks Lucian.
  10. Nice! Especially like the orange one.It would be hard for a fish to avoid these.

  14. Yeah, transmission fluid running down your back and in your hair is a big drag. But you need to replace that filter or don't even bother. You will have left all the contaminates sitting in the pan. Trans pans will bend by looking at them funny. Gaskets can be sketchy also. You shouldn't try this alone your first time...and i mean have some-one with experience help you untill you have confidence. edit; Remember to pull the dip stick BEFORE removing the pan...There are some that can bite you. Remember to clean off the magnet in the pan also.Usually covered with sludge. I like the rubber gaskets. The cork gaskets are the ones you have to watch.
  15. I always wonder how much oil they leave in the pan.
  16. For the oil I just take out the drain plug and let it drain into a pan. When they do the tranny they remove the tranny pan to replace the filter.A lot easier for them to do the tranny on a lift.
  17. That's one way to know for sure.I change my own oil but i leave the tranny service to the shop and i usually stand around in the shop and watch the mechanic do it.
  18. Very nice fly. What is the yellow body material you used for it? Exactly what i was thinking too.I tie a bee that kill's bluegill here.
  19. Glad you got it figured out.Did you find why it was so low on oil?
  20. Hobby Lobby has the eyelash yarn that mike mentioned but nothing i have seen there looks like the EZ Bug yarn.
