  1. hi dan, thanks for your comments about the hook..i just want to add that the deep throat and longer flat shank in the back make a nice platform for tying in material for the tail, leaving lots of room for a body..just a neat hook...sharp too.
  2. mcfly, what do you do cut a hole in the ice one foot wide and fifty feet long.lol.
  3. hi dan, how do you like that owner deep throat hook...it,s my bass bug hook of choice..great for divers and plunkers because of the 60 degree shank..do you ty jet bugs...this is the hook for that.. the bug will plunk in one spot for ever.
  4. thanks for the video, dan....good stuff.
  5. salty, that picture shpuld be hanging in the louvre...
  6. it,s all about our disposable income or should i say our garbage-disposable income...
  7. hi, dave.thanks for setting me straight...your target fish is sooty, grunter, and perch...i bet they make good bass food..no? LOL..
  8. dave, thanks for reply...are you targeting largemouth bass with these hoppers..thanks.
  9. li,l dave nice hoppers...how do you like the circle hooks and what brand are they or did you just take a standard fly hook, heat the tip and then bend it...i keep hearing that flies on circle hooks don,t hook fish as often as regular hooks but when they do hook up they hold better, yes or no in yor experience, thanks.
  10. is there anything in a fabric store that comes pretty close...the ez bug material is very pricy..
  11. dan, that fly is going to be outlawed...it,s only a matter of time..
  12. hi byron...maybe you can call it the butch caddisy...just kidding..ha ha...see.
  13. hi mr.cream. nice looking double barrel popper. but what is a double barrel and what is a complex twisted collar instead of hair tips...thanks.
  14. thanks everyone for comments. dave, your last two sentences sound like comments i get from some of my friends about me. but hey, that line is still good, it sinks just a little faster.
  15. thanks for the replies. you ever notice how when you hook up to say a nice bass and you got the rod really loaded about 90 degrees and your trying to give a little line back to the fish but the line won,t slide then you give a little more and it suddenly pop free and the line now slides but too much and the fish gets off because of too much slack? is that dirty or worn guides or the nature of wire guides or i don,t know how to fight afish? thanks..
  16. i know this is not fly tying but this forum is most active. i was wondering how many seasons you get out of your fly guides before replacing them beccause of wear. this is just about wire snake guides on your most used rod. thanks
  17. yes, deer hair should be spinning...P.U...i know.
  18. thanks caloosa bug. every mateial you just listed was diffeent from my guess, it pays to ask. even wwithout eyes i bet it kept on catching. thanks again
  19. caloosa bug you should be pleased. i know i would be. what materials did you use. thanks...
  20. the loop in the body foam may create a nice trail of bubbles along with wht the lip makes. i,ll have to give it a try. oh, nice video too. thanks for making it.
  21. gee dan, if that,s true, i can,t wait to see the flies you ty when your good enough! lol!
  22. the only mistake i see is that there,s no fish hanging on the end of it. nice looking fly.
  23. maybe you can bend the point to line it up; sort of turn it into a semi-circle hook. or maybe take a mustad circle streamer hook. bend it back then uncircle the tip a tad.six of one or half dozen of another.
