Burke's Aggravator
Little bigger, changed up the colors from the one posted in the Challenge thread.
Hook: #8, 2xl
Bead: 5/32 brass
Weight: Lead wire
Thread: tan, 6/0
Tag & rib: FTD Norther Flash, copper
Tail: Tan & black marabou
Abdomen: Hare’s mask
Legs: FTD Bug Legs, amber gold, wacked with a brown mahkah
Thorax: Hare's mask, dubbing loop
Wing case: Turkey tail feather slip, coated with SHHAN
I kinda like the looks of this pattern. I'll tie up a few more. With all due respect to Mr Burke though, I'm thinking the marabou tail should be changed to something stubbier and stouter, maybe a clump of hare's mask, a la a gold ribbed hare's ear. Thoughts anyone?

Very nice work on the box, he's going to love it.
But I have to that is the loneliest looking rat faced McDougal I have ever seen.

The pain of losing a true fishing brother is one that I will one day have to bear unless that burden lay on one of their shoulders' first. Prayers for him, you, and the rest of the family, may you find the peace that he now has.

Burke's Aggravator
First attempt.
Hook: #10 nymph
Bead: 5/32 brass
Weight: Lead wire
Thread: tan, 6/0
Tag & Rib: Lime rainbow flash, 2 strands twisted
Tail: Olive & black marabou
Abdomen: Olive hare’s mask
Wing case: Pheasant tail fibers
Legs: Olive melanistic pheasant feather*
Thorax & collar: Black squirrel, dubbing loop
*Original recipe calls for rubber legs, but I couldn't find mine at first (forgot I had combined them in the same box as my flash but never changed the label), so I subbed a feather from a melanistic dark olive pheasant for the legs and used pheasant tail fibers for the wing case.
Came out a little stubbier on the hook than it should be IMO, considering what it's supposed to represent. Proportions are a bit off: tail's a bit too long and too sparse, thorax is too bulky. I think this will fish well, but overall I wasn't too happy with it as a representation of the pattern.
Second time's a charm:
Hook: #10 nymph
Bead: 5/32 brass
Weight: Lead wire
Thread: tan, 6/0
Tag & rib: Lime rainbow flash, 2 strands twisted
Tail: Olive & black marabou
Abdomen: Olive hare’s mask
Legs: FTD bug legs, light olive
Thorax: Black squirrel, split thread
Wingcase: Turkey tail feather slip, coated with SHHAN

Mine are hardwired with battery back-up. I wait for the beep before I change them.
The new battery powered ones come with a 10 year lithium battery. They are disposable, batteries can't be replaced.
Previous to this it was recommended that smoke/CO detectors be replaced every 10 years. Some of the homes I go into still have the smoke detectors installed back in late 70's when they first became required.

That is a beauty.

Posting on another site and the subject of Lacy Gee's Gimp pattern came up. Using different material/colors for the body, wing, and hackle along with the mention of Starling in the same discussion, got the wheels churning and I came up with with. I make no claim to originality. I'll call it a Gimp variation, since that was the catalyst.
Hook: #14
Thread: 8/0 black
Rib: small black wire
Body: Australian possum, dyed burnt orange
Wing: Starling feathersx2
Hackle: Starling
