If so, and if you want the fly to ride with the hook point up, you might want to try reversing your color scheme so that the light color will ride on the bottom and the darker color will ride on the top (i.e., opposite of what you're showing here). Shaq 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2005 my best pike fly is either hot pink or white rabbit zonker strip, 4 inch tail off a #4 stainless hook, then palmer the strip all the way up the shank, bead chain eyes and you're done. deer hair is great but after one it's done. rabbit hair even sticks in the teeth and you can land one without hooking it sometimes.
