Not too shabby Alex! I tie mine with a meatier collar, but that is just my personal preference. You should wack the fish up your way on this one! :headbang:

 

Do you find that the white streamer hair has enough shoulder to it, as opposed to calf tail, to give the fly body and keep the flank feather in place?

There was a gentleman in Arkansas that unfortunately has since passed away that tied the Cougar in black and called it the Nite Cougar. He ripped a few brown's lips with it at night. It's a streamer I should probably have in my fly-box.

Nice fly OLB, I subsituitute the calf tail with differnt things as well. There is one I use a mix of pink and purple bucktail, underwing. A grey marabou tail and natural mallard wing. The body is light grey uni-floss, over a iron grey uni-thread base. When wet the body takes on that great colour of a smelt or a rainbow
