Redwings1 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 Not too shabby Alex! I tie mine with a meatier collar, but that is just my personal preference. You should wack the fish up your way on this one! :headbang: Do you find that the white streamer hair has enough shoulder to it, as opposed to calf tail, to give the fly body and keep the flank feather in place? maddog48 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 There was a gentleman in Arkansas that unfortunately has since passed away that tied the Cougar in black and called it the Nite Cougar. He ripped a few brown's lips with it at night. It's a streamer I should probably have in my fly-box. Mike
Joe Hard 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2006 Nice fly OLB, I subsituitute the calf tail with differnt things as well. There is one I use a mix of pink and purple bucktail, underwing. A grey marabou tail and natural mallard wing. The body is light grey uni-floss, over a iron grey uni-thread base. When wet the body takes on that great colour of a smelt or a rainbow I like the pure black idea. i
