Assuming these spammers are new forum 'members', would it discourage

them if new members had to wait say, one full day before being allowed to post ?

Well if we are getting that much spam maybe a change is in order to help prevent it. Maybe members wit over 500 post or something have the ability to temporarily delete posts. Also maybe having the new members wait a while to be able to post. I know I could post the minute I signed in. Most boards you have to wait and they usually don't get ANY spam. STUPID SPAMMERS!
