adamtn - size 8 hopper, brown and tan

Fly Time - flashy little foam beetle

Moushka- Gurgler variation (trout size)

nomad - dragonfly variation or a catapillar

SullyTM -Foam Diving Hopper

kc9fau - foam bettle

Mr. McGinty - some kind of ant

madkasel - Los Alamos Ant.

 

9 IN - madkasel there is always room for one more! 10 with me. It was a careful plan cause I had 8 sets of hackle stripped and ready to go. Guess it's back to drawing board and need to strip a little more hackle.

 

Let' me know what your tying so we have all different patterns, please.

 

So this one is CLOSED. We will be tying 9 patterns. Due Sep 8th, 2006. Let's go for it! Pictures will be posted as the flies come in. Thanks for joining, let's have some fun.

Hey Threader, I think you missed my reply, I am tying a dragonfly variation or a catapillar, and an orange stonefly would be cool, thanks.

I decided to take the day to get some supplies, make some tools and practice.

 

I have my nine beetles done. :P But, it took longer than I expected. :blink:

 

If you can PM me your address and I can get them tagged they will go out tomorrow.

 

 

I should mention that these are some of my first ones and I am still trying to figure this stuff out.

Thanks, I just started working with foam and I am working through a couple other local patterns trying to learn the techniques.

 

The legs are a little weird on some of them, I couldn't get them to lay right, so I switched about half way through them. Tying them on the side instead of across seems to work much better.
