Mr. McGinty 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 TAMU84 I got my pattern and many other foam patterns from the book Tying Flies With Foam, Fur, and Feathers by Harrison Steeves. Amazon has used copies going for under $5, will definetly be the best $5 you could spend to pick up several easy, yet productive patterns. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Steeves at a fly fishing show in Charlotte, NC a few years ago and he has more patterns that are not in the book. So if you ever get the chance to meet him or see him in person at a show he is worth the price of admission.
madkasel 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2006 The LA Ants are in the mail! Once threader has the picture posted, I'll link from there to both the pattern in the database and to the thread on the boards that gets even more explicit with the directions. adamtn 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 wow you guys are on it! I still need to do mine. If i get some extra time I'll try to get mine done this weekend so i don't hold the swap up. Maybe we can even get this one done before the deadline. adam
madkasel 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2006 Those look superb, moushka and nomad!!! You'll have to tell us how you do that roll at the head, nomad. Mine should hit your mailbox today, threader. Tomorrow at the latest. I'm really excited to get these. Great thing about foam is that it should be pretty easy to look at the fly and figure out the steps to duplicating them.
