When I first started tying I used head cement. I don't remember when I stopped using it ( too long ago) I believe it was around the time a bottle of it got too thick to use. I haven't used any in about 27 years give or take, haven't noticed any adverse effects to fly longevity. I do keep a bottle of Sallies on the table for those flies that need it.

I use Loon headcement. It's non toxic. I have used normal headcement before, but it's toxic and not good for your health to sit in those fumes.
