Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 I want one! My neighbor told me yesterday he saw one like that in our alley between our houses; I swear, he said it was tan with dark blotches.
smokinprice 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 Dude what gives? All fo the sudden you sat at the bench and cranked some great flies out. Nice work. What is the tail a rabbit strip?
Arkansas Mike 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2010 You have certainly been tying some fantastic looking flies, Mr. Hubbard. Did you get my P.M.? Mike
BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2010 Thank you guys...not my best deer hair fly, but she will fish. Love fishing the baby snake patterns for big bass and gar. The tail is a tan rabbit strip. Mike, I did indeed get your PM...was answering it when the modem went on strike. Then the storm keep me hopping all weekend. Back to our normal as of today. Will be sending you a PM later this evening! Glad you got the little package from Paul as well! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Floyd 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 Good looking fly. I'll have to take a good look at it in a few days. Might do some fly trading when I see you.

FishyboY 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 you should try articulating it. not quite sure you would want to articulate it. the rabbit has great action to it alone. if hookups are the problem then i would look at adding a trailer hook.
Flytyer14 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2010 I see your point.
BigDaddyHub 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2010 Not my best deer hair work, Floyd, but I'll save it for ya.... Flytyer 14, the entire pattern is only aobut 5 inches long...absolutely no need to articulate it...rabbitt has CRAZY movement when wet. Movement's usually not an issue with rabbit fur or strips. FB, not a bad idea for a stinger, but the overall length of this fly doesn't really warrant the need...now in longer lengths, definately an option. FishyboY 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2010 yeah it is a great pattern BDH. could not tell how long the tail was because it is sorta cut off in the pic. and i have seen some flies with crazy long tails!
