breambuster 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2010 Another really nice-looking foam fly is Rich's offering: This one is nicely done, and I bet it's going to be irresistable.

breambuster 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2010 I've tried to tie a Cajun Tickler before, and while I can do a fair job, the ones Big E tied for this swap are AWESOME: Sure would like to watch a video of Big E tying these. Maybe I could learn some tips. Great fly!
rich5665 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2010 Great pics. I always have to wonder where Rockworm gets those boxes from.
breambuster 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2010 Next we have the extended body hopper tied by BDH: This thing ought to float like a cork, and I just know the 'gills are going to go wild over it.
Stippled Popper 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2010 Great pics. I always have to wonder where Rockworm gets those boxes from. Probably from a local paper products supplier or from some place on the web such as this: Uline Boxes When selling notecards made from my Pen & Ink Drawings back when I bought such things in bulk. breambuster 0 Report post Posted September 22, 2010 Finally, here are pictures of the two flies I tied for this swap. All I can say is that I am SO glad I wasn't competing against any of you the year I won first place in the now-defunct Panfish Division of the FTOTY Contest! First, here is my unnamed yellow and orange fly: And the second is my "Tiger" fly: That's all of them until Dart gets his in, and they should be here next week. Take Care BB

Student4evr 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2010 BB Killer swap :headbang: :headbang::headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Thanks to all you who have been in it! It was a real treat to see the skill of the other tiers. The pattern I used was a take off on the original Woven Wire Weevil. I adjusted a trout pattern for BG's. I used a longer straighter hook than the original. Here is a clip showing my source for the WWW. Global Fly Fisher I used Wapsi chartreuse wire for the lower abdomen and olive for the top. The flash back is medium pearl ribbing. I did use a tungsten bead so this thing will go down fast!! You could use a lighter bead to slow down the drop.
