AKFlyman18 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2014 I tried tying my first mouse pattern. This was my first experience with spinning dear hair. I think the hair is a little long. Any pointers to improve on the mouse would be appreciated. Thanks!
sniperfreak223 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2014 it's not bad at all, much better than my first mouse...I would just make the body a little longer, but it's very well fishable as-is.
AKFlyman18 0 Report post Posted January 20, 2014 Thanks for the tip. I was told to get a 2xl hook but I got a 2xh accidentally.

Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Its fun to work with deer hair, Pat Cohen has a couple of good vids (one a mouse/rat) that show you what you need, Here are a few ideas for you that I tied up many moons ago
AKFlyman18 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks, Bruce! I will check out his vids. Those are some great looking flies you tied. I live in Alaska but will be vacationing in Maine this summer and want to fly fish for some bass. I'm trying to tie up some good top water flies.
