Crackaig 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 Only thing is guys, the Bare Hook Nymph is a grayling fly, not a trout fly! Cheers, C.

Will K 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 Sawyers killer bug is pretty darn simple and is, well, a killer. Walt's Worm's are really really simple. But I have to admit, thread body midges are about as simple as it gets... Oh, and the Bivisible... that's pretty darn simple - just palmered hackle on a hook. Will K, Most of these simple flies have been nymphs. In fact, you're the first to mention a dry fly. Anybody else got any ideas on simple dries? Fisherboy0301 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 For dry griffiths knat, how about a San Juan worm? Also small foam bugs with just foam and rubber legs work, or even without the legs.

Fish For Life 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 I would have to say a copper wire worm, Thread midge, san juan worm, and griffiths gnat would be a good try. All are ridiculously easy to tye and are probable just as productive as more complicated flys.
phg 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2014 A blood worm is definitely the simplest fly to tie. Just flat waxed nylon on a scud hook. For a simple dry fly, Fran Better's "Usual" is about as simple as it gets. My second choice would be an X-caddis.
netabrookie 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2014 an F Fly is a fairly simple one also
