May Flies From The Vise

Gold ribbed hare;s ear and partridge oft hackle on a size 14 hook. Tied up some of these heavier hackled ones, and some sparser ones.

These are some things I have been working on in the latter part of April: They are tied in a variety of sizes, and color combinations for both fresh and salt water fishing.

I love the Perch pattern with the red eyes. That would be amazing for pike! And the Brown and white one would be great for brown trout.

Utyer ... I think those foam head flies look great. I am eager to hear, and perhaps see, how they actually work in the water.

Still preparing for the spring pike fishing!! Its getting very close and i cant wait!! Ive got here another green flashabou pike streamer; A orange buck tail streamer with flared out grizzly hackle; some dahlberg divers, one with orange yellow and green, and one that i tried to make look like a frog. Hope you like them!!

Jd1983, For what I can tell that is a nice looking fly. The only thing o would change is the post length. I would make it longer for moving water.

 

I've also been tying Parachutes and more pike flies.

I'll probably never fish this. Just tied it to break up the monotony of cranking out tiny nymphs hahaha

Thread: UTC 70 brown

Abdomen: Stripped Peacock Quill colored with prismacolor dark umber marker

Wings & Wingcase: natural dun CDC

Thorax: Trouthunter Ren Harrop Dark Tan Dubbing mixed with a little mahogany brown superfine

Legs: Brown Partridge

Tails: Dark Dun Fibettes

Abdomen: Stripped Peacock Dark Umber Prismacolor

I destroyed his fragile little wings and tails but here is a natural:

Wow everybody! It looks like it's gonna be one hell of a month. I wish I could post something worthwhile but I've been too busy with commercial stuff lately:(
