Where do you put your homemade dry fly dope?

One great thing about the e-net is that I can find stuff. I recently bought ten 1/2 oz. ointment jars for 5 bucks, perfect for stowing my favorite dry fly dope.

I'm all set !

...and they're custom too, I put my little logo on the lid ;-D.

Over the years I've read about using Albolene. Does it really work? Have you used it much? Just wondering because I just may invest in some.

 

....been using Albolene for almost 40 years now and have never considered using anything else. I still have the original 12 oz. jar and it's got quite a few more dry fly seasons left in it for refills. About 18 years ago I took stock of my fishing tackle and thought " you know I better get some more Albolene just in case" with this added supply I now have enough to fish well into the days I'll spend on the "happy fishing grounds" in yonder.

Have you heard of "Gink"?.....same stuff.

Gink is not a very good floatant compared to Loon Aquel or Lochsa. Too bad they didn't test Scientific Angers which I prefer to the Loon products and Gink. See the test here.

I found 1/2 ounce dropper bottles at hobby lobby in packages of 3. I pop the tip out, melt the albolene in the microwave and pour it in with a funnel. They fit in commercial floatant holders too.
