tim980 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I've caught a number of fish on a pattern called KC's Creature. Orvis sells them. The first time I saw it I thought it was ridiculous, but I took it on a few trips late summer and it worked extremely well. It has googly eyes. If I was a fish I'd laugh at those eyes and run away. haha Anyways, I tried to make a fly like it, but I won't have a chance to fish it for about a month to see if it works. Was curious what you guys think. I saw some fly bodies that looked strange in the clearance area of a local fly shop. Yellow plastic thing with dubbing and yarn. They were extremely cheap and I thought I could make an interesting hopper with them. Maybe it was a terrible mistake!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 Well ... it doesn't look like any hopper I've ever seen. It's ugly and looks like a mutant bug. That means it will probably catch fish better than anyone else in your area.
FlyTyer15 0 Report post Posted June 12, 2014 I use goggly eyes on my pike flies I think they look awesome. Especial with the different colored jiggly part.
