flytire 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2015 http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=80620 It's about 4 thousands inch thick so I'd work with folded layers Try some and see what works best for you Experiment
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2015 are you talking about natural raffia or the synthetic stuff? I would think the synthetic would be tougher, regardless of thickness.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2015 I have synthetic stuff. It is fragile enough to be annoying. I have used it in layers but it looses the translucent effect that I like with single layers.
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2015 Piker... so do you cover yours with Sally, or what?
Piker20 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 Yep, and uv resin but I'm not sure it adds durability but does reduce some translucency so its what you're looking for most.
FlaFly 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2015 I'm thinking something that dries flexible, like Go2 Glue might add durability, or maybe Aileene's, and it dries clearer than some other coatings.
