Welcome to the site, JM. Are you a fly fisherman, or are you just getting into the tying side of it? If you fish, what do you go after?

Florida here ... so we have a totally different set of rules ... and fewer species to chase than you do up there.

Why do you say that?

There is nothing down here that doesn't also live up there. (aside from a species of sunfish or two)

But the North also has all the trout species, salmon species, Smallmouth Bass, Pike and Musky, Common Carp and several other types of fish that do not live in Central Florida. Northern Florida has a few more than Central, but still nothing like the range of Northern States.

Thanks everyone. Mikechell, yes I do Fly Fish, mostly rainbows and still water ( have a horrible fear of moving water). Unless hubby finds me a nice big hole and then I can stay there and fish (read) for hours while he clambers upstream...

Welcome to the gang. I am also from Rocky. That is too bad about moving waters as we have some amazing rivers and creeks.

I haven't been on the lakes since June. Spent those days on Mitchel Lake. 99% of the time I am on those creeks. Some nice Trout can be found in Prairie creek.
